Meet the Speakers

Jeannie Lyles:

Resides in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and is a member of St. Michael's church in Charleston.  She is a disciple of Jesus Christ.  Jeannie's walk with Christ began as a young girl and has been growing more intimate, challenging and satisfying with each passing day.  Jeannie graduated from the University of South Carolina with Nursing and B.A. degrees.  She got her law degree from Georgetown Univeristy Law School.  Jeannie Practiced Nursing for 5 years and law for 15.  She is married and has three sons.  She has been active in Alpha, Cursillo, Healing Ministry, Children's Worship and Sunday School Ministries and has led a women's bible study for the past 9 years.  Jeannie recently wrote a book called Spiritual Vision, Father Bob's Glasses, a book explaining the sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist to children of all ages.  She has written a curriculum as a companion to the book that St. Michael's church has been using in their children's worship time.  The book is available at Amazon.com.

Melissa Jones:

Melissa Jones is originally from Raleigh, NC but has lived in Bluffton for 12 years with her husband, Kevin, and two children, Hunter, 12, and Ragan, 9.  Melissa always knew God was real and felt His presence even as a small child.  However, she never understood the good news of Jesus Christ until, in her mid-thirties, some friends invited her to attend an in-depth Bible study on Paul's letter to the Romans.  During that study, she came to believe things she had struggled to accept in the past: that she was a sinner, separated from God, in need of a savior, and that Jesus was the only Savior God had sent - there was no ohter way!  She made the decision to believe this truth and proclaimed Jesus as her Lord.  Shortly after her conversion, Melissa felt compelled to share what she had learned with others in hopes they would find similar hope and joy .  God opened doors to make that possible first through neighborhood Bible study, and now as the Teaching Director of Community Bible Study's Bluffton’s Daytime class.   She believes she has been called to help believers understand that Jesus’ life, death, resurrection and ascension opened up a whole new way of life to mankind, but they must choose Jesus to access this new life.

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts." Col. 3:15
